Table top museums

Last weekend The Museum went out for the day to meet some other museums at the Art Workers Guild in central London. It was for the annual meeting of artists collections and museums organised by Stephen Fowler and George Hardie.

We met the Museum of Coastal Curiosities with their many beautiful hagstones , witches fingers and sea eggs....

There was Prue Coopers collection of grooves (above) plus other collections of mud, lucky dip bags, ennui, moulds, paper weights, gay dolls, stencils, rubber stamps, paintings on photographs, embroidery, sleeping dolls, love tokens, quackery, felt animals and shopping lists.
It was a joyful day and the museum was delighted to meet Josie Firmin whose father Peter Firmin is the inspiration for the museum and all its' work.
